YALIKAVAK

YALIKAVAK
Yalikavak is locally known as "small paradise",giving the town a well-deserved reputation for the warmth of its hospitality. As well as being a popular destination for UK and European holidaymakers, Yalikavak is also very popular with the Turkish themselves, being the choice of many celebrities which lends a certain sophistication to the area! Recently two charming old windmills in the center of the village have undergone restoration, which helps keep the traditional charm of the area.

Have been to yalikavak several times, one of the friendliest places i have ever been. Plenty of fine restaurants and bars, no loud dicos, luckily ! Plenty of places to visit, recommend a trip to Bodrum, just a short bus ride.

A couple of places we found that are worth trying -

Corbashi (the soup shop)
Traditional Turkish fast food. Great Soup especially the Tomato, and Garlic soup. Fantastic casseroles, the vegetarian is a favourite. No frills just basic benches and tables but always packed out with Turkish people, few tourists seem to use it but the food is sublime. Try the chicken kebabs in a wrap (about £2.00). Not licenced but they will bring beer from a nearby bar.

Rahat Bar
The comfortable bar. Large screen satellite TV showing sports. Internet and comprehensive library of books and playstation for the kids. Karaoke on Friday Nights. Popular with British as well as local Turkish people. No food, but next to the Soup Shop so you can order and eat at your table if you wish. Reasonably priced drinks. Try a traditional Nargilye Pipe in lots of flavours.

The Windmill Steak House
Juicy tender steaks served on a sizzling cast iron platter, chicken dishes too with self serve salad bar They have a very reasonable fixed price menu with three courses for around £10.00. Fadil (Bill) the Restaurant Manager and his Staff are very friendly and attentive.

many other good bars and restaurants, great food

A beautiful, scenic resort. Yalikavak is littered with small beaches which are fantastically clean and the water crystal clear. Most of these beaches are attached to a bar or restaurant, so as long as you buy your drinks from them, the sun loungers and parasols can be free of charge. As with most of Turkey, the prices for food and drink offers excellent value for money and being a small resort, it tends to be cheaper here than in Bodrum or Kusadasi. I feel this resort is ideal for families and couples, but may be too quiet for Club 18-30! There's a large emphasis on fishing and there are a number of lovely fish restaurants that can be found near the small harbour over looking the sea. There is a large ex-pat community here as many British have holiday homes. There is also an annual yatching race which brings many people from all over the world to visit.

A Turkish experience! Good beaches fantastic people. Restaurants excellent. Dede, Ali Baba serve great food, fish being a speciality. Corbachi the soup shop does cheap food that is out of this world. Try The Windmill for the best steaks at a very reasonable price (tenderloin is best) I can recommend the casseroles and kebabs, all freshly made. Rahat Bar, relaxed and friendly.

One of my favourite towns on the Bodrum Peninsula. It's more chilled and laid back than Bodrum and Turgutreis, but has a wide variety of restaurants, bars, shops and art galleries. There's some great beaches within easy reach, and you can't miss a little trip around the renovated windmill on the hill overlooking Yalikavak.

I was wondering if you ever considered changing the structure of your website?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little
more in the way of content so people could connect with it better.
Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 pictures.
Maybe you could space it out better?
